Labor Day and Book Update
Sep 02, 2022 by Andrew Walbrown
Labor Day is upon us again here in the US of A, and I hope everyone has a good one even though I know they won't. I've worked in retail and food service for over a decade and I know that Monday holidays suck pretty hard for folks in those industries. I mean, most days suck, but having hordes of people off who think they're entitled to a good time while you're busy slinging chowder or ringing up clothes for their bratty children really adds a new level to the awfulness that is working a retail or restaurant job. But I digress since that's not what this blog post is about (plus you probably don't want to listen to my rant about how every American holiday is soulless and terrible).
First, life updates. Not much is going on in my life. I went to Maine a few weekends ago with my friends and had a good time. When I got home my cat hissed at me for days either because A. she thought I was someone else or B. she was angry I left her for days (my partner was home the whole time so it's not like she was alone). Whatever, we're bffs again and that's all that matters. My golf game is way better. I've actually played so much golf this summer that my phone took it upon itself to suggest that I play golf at 4pm every Friday because it knows that's usually when I play. Because my phone knowing when I play golf isn't creepy at all. Guess I'll just go ahead and start worshipping my phone now. You know, for when AI takes over. Gonna get in on the ground floor and sell out the rest of humanity on Day 1 of the apocalypse. Yep.
In the meantime, some updates on Book #3. While nothing is every official, the running title at the moment is Sea of Sorrows. That's pretty much all I'm giving you at the moment. Okay fine, here's a spoiler: Amantius and Ulam are in it. There, you happy? Twisting my arm to reveal more info about my book. How dare you! In all seriousness, though, I'm getting wicked close to the end of the first draft. And then after that? Editing time baby! Which, eeeesh this draft is going to need a lot of editing. But hey, any progress is better than no progress.
That's it, that's all I have. Now, let me tell you about how stupid every holiday is...(just kidding). Take care, y'all, and thanks for reading
